ELLEN GREENBERG

I've been playing and writing music for as long as I can remember. Early on, the stage was my second home. Influenced by British rockers like Def Leppard and Led Zeppelin, and the poetic rawness of Patti Smith and Tim Buckley, my bandmates and I performed in bars and local venues, propelled by the joys of playing live.

Today, I focus on writing songs for other artists to perform. How do I do this? I think about artists like Melissa Etheridge or Bryan Adams, or country voices like Lily Rose, Brothers Osborne and Old Crow Medicine Show, and write with them in mind. And that's what I'll do for you.

I currently teach high school English, combining lessons in songwriting and rap, both of which happen to be big favorites among my eager-to-learn students.
